…..plus fork brace for Specials have inner fork mount piece being a raised area in order for inner brace piece to clear top of fender as Special forks have a leading front axle mount;).

...Also, the Standard fork lowers are a few millimeters smaller in diameter than the Special fork lowers. So, with that, the fork brace Jeff has installed unfortunately will NOT work on XS11...

Use of Permatex Ultra Grey was my choice. With no gasket, Ultra Grey was also my choice for oil pan and clutch side-cover. That was some ten years ago, and as of yet, no weeps nor seeps;).

Any confusion correction: 1/2 mm of fuel level change IS equivalent to a .012 actual change of fuel bowl levels;).

Marty, Greg IS correct by suggesting lowering the fuel bowl levels 1/2 a mm. Also, make sure all four fuel bowl levels are equal with engine at an idle;). BTW, 1/2 a mm. equals .012 using a slide...

Sounds like possibly over-revved or too loose a cam chain and piston hit grounding leg of spark plug. Good luck diagnosing the issue.
