The 3 point guards is all I'll install. They will still bend into the engine in a crash but they've never damaged a cover....so far. :D

I have a Venturer tank that was in perfect condition until it fell off the shelf and got a dent if you know anyone. No petcocks or cap on it...

The clutch works just fine with the Barnett...

The clutch works just fine with the Barnett springs and the proper engine oil.

I've seen people put in an extra steel to try and cure slippage but it never worked right.

It's another SF engine. Taking it out of a well kept Special with a bent frame that came from Bob Falter in Iowa. It was crashed several years ago and had been in Bob's shop being meticulously taken...

FYI...in a pinch until you find the right stuff, 1" heater automotive heater hose can be slipped on there temporarily. JAT.

I used that on mine for quite a while.

One other thought, be sure the air bleed holes are clear in the emulsion tubes. If they are blocked, clogged ,you will run rich as well.

The air jets on the air cleaner side of the carbs too.

Yes, lower the fuel level. You should be able to get those fittings at just about any hardware store. Brass fittings in the plumbing dept.

I dislike the late carbs with a passion. I had early carbs on okie even be for I swapped to the F engine.

Have you tried lowering your float levels? 1/2 mm .at a time and see if it gets better

What do your plugs look like?

I continuously get mid to high 20s with mine unless I ride at 55 - 60 MPH. I've gotten up to about 42 MPG at those speeds. My plugs look perfect so I've jus accepted...
