Interactive link

I see some of you guy do a nice little trick with the interactive links and I was wondering if you could explain how to do it. You turn a word into a clickable link... Like, "Check this out" and you can click on the word "this" and it take you somewhere. TELL US YOUR SECRET! please

Marshy, I'll leave the left braces off the tags or the forum will try to make them 'live':

If you just want to make a clickable 'live' link.

http://www.somelink.com.invalid

Here is the layout for the above link. Notice that the opening and closing URL tags use left and right brackets:

URL]http://www.somelink.com.invalid[/url]

Next, is an example of a clickable link with text. It won't do anything but it is 'live'.

Text goes here

Here's the layout for the above clickable link with text. It's not 'live' because I didn't add the leftmost bracket to the beginning of the opening URL tag. Notice the beginning URL tag doesn't use both brackets, it uses a left bracket on the left, an equal sign before the link and a right bracket to close the tag at the end of the link, before the text:

URL=http://www.somelink.com.invalid]Text goes here[/url]

If you want to add an image:

IMG]http://www.someimage.com.invalid[/IMG]

If you want to add a clickable link to an image:

URL=http://www.somelink.com.invalid] IMG]http://www.someimage.com.invalid[/IMG][/url]

If you want to add a clickable link to some text and an image:

URL=http://www.somlink.com.invalid]Text goes here (press enter once to insert a carriage return/linefeed to put the text above the picture)
IMG]http://www.someimage.com.invalid[/IMG][/url]

A 'live' example of an image with text and a clickable link:

This was my first home made XS11 seat

Have fun with it!

Regards,

Scott

Another way, type the word or words you want to link, like "this" for example, then click and drag over it to highlight it. Then click the link button at the top of the post and type your url into the box that opens up. When you click ok it will look just like what 3phase typed out.
