I have the Acewell Coils, so I don't think I have a ballast resistor?

No offense intended, but you SERIOUSLY need to learn this stuff as you go, just like the rest of us knowledgable folks. That way you can become of help for others here. I'm here to be of help, not lead someone around by the hand

I'm trying to learn as I go... Sorting out electrical issues is immensely easier if someone with experience can lead you to water. The whole point of this forum is to get help. If you aren't here to help that's fine, get off my post, you don't have to comment. Someone who doesn't mind teaching and sharing their knowledge will help.

If your voltage is below something like 10.3 volts (?) the black box will make no spark, even if you try to kick it.

Scott/3Phase may still be busy visiting his father and/or nursing his XJ back home from XSSE, so that's why he may have not seen/answered/replied yet.
Like Motoman said, you will want to start at the battery. Then go to the fuseblock and check both sides for the ignition circuit. Don't forget the emergency cut of switch at the handlebar IF you still have it wired into the harness. Then at the TCI, there's a diagram somewhere showing the pinout for the TCI so you know which wire to check, but with you customizing the harness, it may be difficult to identify which wire is which. If you are running ACCEL coils, AND they are the 3.0 ohm type then you should have removed/bypassed the ballast resistor, this way the coils can feed off of 12V ALL of the time. Like Skids said, the coils and TCI both need about at least 10.5V or more to be able to function. T.C. |

Yep, ballast is gone.
My Red/Yellow is 0.02 after switching the key on, with the starter held it climbs to 8V. My bottom Red/White (on bottom pin in TCI) which leads to my pickup coils reads 11.2, if I press the starter it dives down to 8 or 5. My top Red/White (top pin) which leads to coils reads 0.1, if I press the starter and hold this jumps to 8V. Anytime I press the starter I can here the solenoid click as it should. I've cleaned all grounds and ground connections. I also tested my voltage across my fuse box. I have 12.5 into in, 12.5 out to the key, 11.6 back in (this is a three-way branch, and 11.6 back through the other side. What's eating my voltage? When testing the Orange/Grey/White and Red only reads 2V. Is there other things I should start to check? Help you genius gurus!

Motoman that's not the problem as I have 12V at that connection.
As I understand that red/white powers into the TCI box, my white/red, grey, and orange have basically no voltage among them.

White/red should be power to the coils. IF no power, check the kill switch.

Unfortunately or fortunately, depending on how you look at it, the killswitch is fine, I have power through it and the button functions fine, shuts of power when it should, and when on it's not a huge drop. Its 100% not the killswitch, not the red/white that's the problem. But after the killswitch I have no power. :/

Check the tip over switch. It's under the tank. If it froze in the "open" position, no power.

Unfortunately that's not it either. Tip over switch was removed by previous owner, deleted completely from the wiring.
