You know, I hadnt thought of that. About a K away from my back door is TurnTru Engineering, the company who built the Ducati powered race bikes for Burt Munro's movie, and the company owner, Noel Atley, is a client of the company I work for. These guys are the specialist precision engineers to the local Aluminium Smelter and if its made of metal and they cant make it, it cant be made. Might have to go and talk to them tomorrow and see if i get scared by thier pricing.

OK if my maths is correct, and my measurements, and my info - so all to be checked still - GSXR1100's from 93-98 have a liner 75.5mm factory, we have about 78mm to play with so they should fit in with acceptable wall thickness, standard pistons and rings should fit, looking like it MAY involve the gudgeon pin being machined out to suit a larger pin. Only worries are a slightly different pin height, but the main one being the stroke on a GSXR is shorter, by enough to make the liners non-viable, i do not know. Gah i should be posting this to a new thread when i open that can of worms. I am just the type of guy that sees something that HAS to be possible with the vast array of components out there, and will loose sleep over it until i find all the jigsaw puzzle pieces. Beginning to look more towards the car world, there are some little buzz box parts that should fit quite well. Oh, and the outcome of some junkyard/off the shelf parts and i little bit of machine work on some liners, would be looking about 1228.5 ccs. I think i can knock it together for around $500, though all the sundries and machine work would probably blow that out of the water. Then again, thats still needed for a wiseco big bore kit too.

Well thats nice of the PO, just noticed that when he put it all together, he was nice enough to LINE UP ALL THE GAPS IN THE RINGS for me. Makes it nice and pretty to look at. Not the greatest if you want the engine to RUN PROPERLY but aesthetically pleasing at least. In the process of splitting the case, have not taken the engine out of the frame yet, getting at what i can while it is in there. Picking up the new/used set of jugs this Saturday. With luck will be riding in a fortnight or so, hurrah. Although my main riding buddy (other than wife) has had some minor surgery and will not be riding for a month yet, so that is my upper time limit for getting her road ready again, 1st August just to round out the numbers.
From reading all the info on these bikes, i am still not 100% sure on the exact model, i believe it is just a standard, but it has some of the Special model extras. Think she is just a Bitza. Decided, seeing as she is apart, and looked hideous before, to paint before putting back together also. Have sprayed 80% of the frame with gloss black engine paint, and flipping a coin to see if i paint the engine black and then dress the edges of the fins afterwards, or leave the engine aluminium colour... decisions, somebody make them for me! Leaning towards black engine and polising the face of the fins, think that will still be enough bling for me without hiding the engine completely.
