Thanks man. Hate to sell it, but it's time to bring something else back from the dead.

Whoa... Small world. I've seen this bike on craigslist for almost a year, if not longer.

I've seen it a lot too on CL. It does look nice, but it is worth what it's worth unfortunately. It's had a pretty high price. Maybe ebay would fetch a higher price.

I've posted it here and there to see. Haven't been too serious about selling it until now. Any offer I get for it will be considered, as long as it's reasonable. Definitely not a $15k bike, but not a $1500 one either. Trying to sell for an older car or truck since I'm unable to ride the bike. I've had offers of $5k as is, but I figure I have a better shot of selling it once it's running.. Which I have plans to buy the parts needed, just need to find someone that can clean and sync the carbs properly.

well if you don't want to do it your self, theres a place called EastSide Performance Motorcycles in Mesa, AZ.

Unfortunately this the only place i know of that will touch anything older than 25years old... I had a buddy take an xs750 out to get worked on. Real simple things too... He just wanted the carbs jetted, new handlebar grips, new fusebox and a new rear tire.
4 days and $900 later.... the bike would bog under load after 6k rpms and not even 10miles later the new rear tire was leaking at the bead. I don't recommend this place....

These carbs are fairly simple to work on. There are plenty of people here who can give you advice/help too if you're in a jam.

It isn't that difficult.Just disassemble one at a time, clean and replace worn parts,reassemble.Repeat,repeat,repeat. That way, if you forget how something goes together, you have three templates right there to show you. The key is to get them squeaky clean inside and outside. Most importantly, all jets and passages. Make sure to check float level on both bulbs on each float to make sure they are the same and correct height.Bench sync, set the idle mixture screws out about 2 turns out and reinstall. Tune from there.
