Valves disks
Hello everyone shade tree bike guy here again picking your brains. I have my carbs being rebuild and decided it was time to measure valves.
Exhaust was .24 .24 .25 .20 Intake was 0 .14 0 0 (the 0s come from my .04 would not go in My shims for Exhaust #4 (.20) is y285 (that's the only exhaust one I am changing) Intake y270 y255 y275 #4 I could see anything so going to measure later. anyone one know what shims I need to get

Did you measure them with the lobe COMPLETELY opposite the contact point on the shim?

Each shim size is approximately .002".

Humm .. have you ever considered getting a service manual ? Most of this stuff is clearly spelled out there. No offense intended. Maybe someone would ask Ringer who seldom visits if His pdf manual could be hosted here. Justsaying. Hat off to Him.

Well like I said
I have little or no skills working on this bike so I really rely on all you guys. I just figured if I put in my readings some one would just look at them and know off the top of there heads.

Ok is this how you do it?
Ok does it work this way?
intake 1 I have 270 my .04 wouldn't go in so say it was .02 I need .16-.20 so does that mean I need a 270 - 16 =254 sim? (16 comes from .02 and wanting .18 so 16)

There is an Intake/Exhaust chart that takes away all the guessing. Do a search for it.

Ok
Ok talked to the guy who is helping me, about the .0 rounding to .02 He suggested using 0 and really shooting for all the intakes to be at the .20 or high side of the 16-20 would that be best? shoot for 20 on every intake?
