Hey Ben,

Did you follow the link in the Tech Tip..the Westco battery site??? I did!

Below are the results from a GOOGLE SEARCH for AGM MOTORCYCLE BATTERY:

Westco Battery site supplied by MK Batteries
http://estorebc.mkbattery.com/Catego...1978-1981.aspx

WCP18 Platinum series: $136.95 20 AH/ 340 CCA

12V22 Standard 22AH/ 300 CCA

***********************************
Interstate batteries:
http://www.interstatebatteries.com/c...312-2147384906

They show 2 AGM style,

FAYTX24HL Cycle-TronPlus: that's fully charged 21 AH, no CCA listed: $137.95

CYTX24HL-BS Cylce-Tron II is AGM, but says it comes with an ACID PACK, so I'm thinking that you have to actually FILL it with the ACID, and then seal it up?? It's also rated at 21 AH but no CCA listed? $131.95 Retail!

**************************
BatteryMart.com has these listed: Cheapest is $92.95 with free ground shipping!

http://www.batterymart.com/c-yamaha-xj1100-battery.html

***********************************8

Batterystuff.com lists one for $88.00 Scorpion brand: 21 AH/ 350 CCA

http://www.batterystuff.com/batterie...cc-xs1100-all/

The above page also shows some Lithium style, but we've discussed this, our charging system doesn't have the Finess to keep from FRYING THESE!!!

************************************

BatteriesPlus.com sells an AGM for our bikes: X2-18L with 330 CCA $119.99

http://www.batteriesplus.com/product...wer%c2%ae.aspx

*********************************

Bikebandit has the Bikemaster one for $104.36 but only 230 CCA !

http://www.bikebandit.com/bikemaster...la-bm?m=138405

************************************

YuasaBatteries.com shows this model: YTX24HL-BS 21 AH/ 350 CCA ~ $136.00
http://store.yuasabatteries.com/p/ytx24hl

**************************************

Ebatteriestogo.com has: Power Source WP50-N18L-A Sealed AGM 22AH/ 350 CCA $105.95 with S&H free.

http://www.ebatteriestogo.com/landin...Y50-N18L-A.htm

Happy Shopping. You didn't mention whether this was for your XS11 or your ST, but since you're here, I ASSUMED it was for your XS11, the above links are for the battery that will fit OUR XS11's!

Ben,

Here is where I buy mine. You may find the prices hard to beat. I've been running the Deka for about three years.

I think my Interstate Cycletron Plus was around $75. Always have had good experience with Interstate.

Wally World.....$60 and they generally last about 3 years if you charge them correctly in the beginning and make sure you keep them full of distilled water.

Just like your damn car.

I am not very good at maintaining a battery. It's one of my many faults. The AGM battery has made my life easier. I just retired one in my XS650 nine years old.

no distilled h2o...it has to be a sealed battery...i do not want to deal with keeping electrolyte levels maintained...so far this looks like the best bang for the buck...considering what i want...

Battery

I have purchased several AGM batteries from http://www.batterymart.com. Some for 4 wheelers and bikes. Prices work for me. Odyssey PC680 is the one I get for the 1100s. Right now on sale for $112 and free shipping. Has 2 year warranty and is one of the better batteries. This battery is actually smaller than the OEM battery and therefore it is necessay to use some spacers when installing - foam or wood works well.

this is exactly why my battery is toast...one or 2 cells dried out and when i went to charge it up i burned it out....no fires but battery was real hot after 2 hours on the slow charge setting...holy crap...
