1983 Yamaha XS650 Heritage Special

What is a Heritage Special? Have not heard of the term.

It is just a special XS650 Special. With wire spoke wheels instead of cast alloy and a few othe things. It is basically the last model of the 650s.
Just a name for a bike like Thundercat or Fireblade or Ninja.

I have one that I bought new in '83! It is in fact one of the very last XS models. The Heritage was designated in '82 and '83. (also '84 in Canada) The SJ is blacked out almost like a Midnight model and the SK is chromed. Both have double laced wheels and a lot of trim parts not available on earlier models. The Canadian '84 model has the familiar cast wheels, but fitted with a rear drum brake like the '81 model.

I ride mine often. It's a great bike!
