Sooo....

Following Ray's procedure, I was able to get the ring back in the groove. Thanks again, Ray. But getting the piston back in is a difficult matter. Compress it in with a C clamp?

Hey Ray

Thanks for that nicely described o-ring insertion procedure. Yes, I used PJ1 super cleaner on all of the parts. Rubber and metal.

And while I'm at it,

And while I'm at it, how important is it to remove the spring clip that is wedged into the body of the caliper? It Doesn't look like a critical element in the rebuild process. But if you guys say...

Ride like a pro

I took the ride-like-a-pro course, and it was really helpful. A lot of slow speed maneuvering drills that translate to road and highway speeds. MUCH better than the standard MSF course.

The one from XS SE looks cool. From the reading I've done, is sounds like it was a pretty quick and able bike relative to it's displacement.

Suzuki RE5

Has anyone ever heard of this rotary-powered, mid-seventies oddity? I guess I knew somewhere along the line that there was such a thing as this, but I've never actually seen one.

Well, even though old

That was a cool build. I would like to have heard (and seen pictures of) how they melted the hi-grade aluminum and filled in the space on the formerly sprocketed wheel. That would have been cool.
